Hey To all of you great folks
So My bike trip ended over a year ago now, but that doesn't mean that I have quit moving. Quite the opposite in fact. Since arriving in Arizona by train from LA, I have worked on a seed farm, then moved to Idaho to work on the water, then back to Tacoma for a spell, and finally here I am, in Philadelphia, PA.
How did this all happen, you may wonder. Well... here's the scoop. I set off from Tacoma, WA originally with the intention of winding my way through the country, learning about agriculture and life and such, for several years. Well, while working in Arizona I met a girl. Jenna. We worked together on the farm in Cornville, AZ. During my time there, we spent alot of time together, and when the time came to move on, the itinerary was a tad different from what I had originally intended.
My time in Arizona consisted mainly of learning a bit about seed saving, worked outside a lot, learning the workings of a small mail order business, and exploring the southwest. Among the most awesome moments where those spent out hiking in the backcountry. We went on some Wonderful hikes in Cottonwood Canyon, in the Harcuvar Mountains with my Pop's, in the Mazatzal with our awesome doggy Louie aka Agamemnon. Of course there was Christmas day in the bottom of the Grand Canyon, and also New Years in Tucson with my amazing friends the Voelkel Sisters from long ago in Chicago. There was the time we were stuck in a valley next to a rising river, trying to get to hot springs, and immobilised due to the road being steep and made of slick red clay.
All in all it was a pretty great time in Arizona, but it was getting hot come may and Jenna and I decided to head for cooler climes. We decided to head to Stanely, Idaho, at the head of the Salmon River, to see if we couldn't get some summer jobs on the river.
